Pornhub just blocked access to hundreds of thousands of videos so they can 'verify' them.
Looking for an altervative site, and I instantly remembered why Xhamster and Xvideos aren't even in consideration.
When I play video games they don't scroll Gamestop across my user interface like an a-hole..

I imagine the only ones complaining about the water mark are the ones who download videos and then post them as their own. It is all over xhamster. Once you post a video it belongs to xhamster anyway so stop your whinging and either decide to post or do not post. No one is making you be here. Amazing how I can find the same video on ten different account all claiming to be the original. Get over it people.

Just stick the xhamster logo small and in the bottom corner, moving banners are so distracting.

But technically, you're putting YOUR watermark on SOMEONE ELSE'S content. A bit hypocritical, don'y you think?

XHamster merely hosts the content, and therefore cannot claim ownership or "creation" of it.

It's an abomination and clearly in your interest, not ours. It'd be ok if the watermark were optional but as it is it discourages user participation.

The fact that you've disabled voting on this suggestion is really telling.

so you closed the vote option because you know it's not what people want. You don't upload vids with watermarks, but you add your own to vids put on your site. That's the pot calling the kettle don't you think?

The watermarking has nothing to do with content protection but with content BRANDING!

The watermark will not stop videos from being re-uploaded/re-distributed to other sites but now when this happens, they will carry free advertising for xHamster on these other porn sites. I've lost count the number of times i've seen the xvideos scrolling text on here so the watermark clearly does not work as a method of content protection. It's just very annoying and distracting! Please stop using it!

Pleas stop, adding the scrooling text/ watermarks to videos. It's very distracting and the very reason i stopped watching xvideos and came to this site.

About this "protection" :
in Xhamster , i can find many "Protected" video from Xvideos"...
Yes, their scrolling watermark is more ugly than your but it didn't protect noting, no ?

So , let us the choice !

Personally i don't like it and don't use Xvideos for that (they have a good choice of videos too and a good interface but their watermark... pfff...)
On Xhamster before we have all of that too, but without this "protection".

Like it`s been mentioned before, all the videos from now on will have the watermark for xhamster.com, which will be done automatically.

This solution has been introduced in order to better protect any user-uploaded videos so that they do not get re-uploaded/re-distributed to other sites without user`s consent (which happened to be the case before).

Therefore, this tool is for Copyright Protection purposes.

If you want to add any additional watermarks to your videos, they should be in the following format - "https://xhamster.com/user/wrnkldsolesniff"

You have nothing to do with our video. And you don't have the right to add your name to them. this is border line copyright violation, when you put your name on stuff that is not your. This could be an option for member posting to have this if they want this on there videos along with there own skoling bar. But you don't have a right to add this to videos that you did not produce

Content protection?
You guys run a platform with pretty much 95% unlicensed/pirated material and you talk about "content protection".
This thing is completely useless and totally annoying. You are not some small niche site, you are one of the biggest porn streaming sites on this planet, you don't need to put some annoying logo on videos like xvideos did.

Well, we'll see how this affects uploaders who don't want it added and those who don't want to see it. It takes about a minute to cross the screen. On shorter vids it kills them.

i also do not like new watermarks.... transparent logo in corner of screen for short period of time good idea.

As the scrolling watermark/banner takes about a minute to track across it really spoils any upload, even more so with the shorter vids.
