Since the upload is server seems to be constantly bogged down with uploading videos, why not implement a system similar to taking a number in a store.
When the upload servers are getting near capacity there should be a small percentage set aside for users to, say click a button that say's "Take a number" and when spot assigned to that number becomes available they will receive an email, or text stating that they have a 30 minute window of time to start an upload before they lose their place in line.
Even if this option was only available to Gold members, it would be an improvment over looking at the screen that say's wait a few... DAYS..
