The xHamster search engine has been almost completely useless for anything other than simple, single-term searches for as long as I can remember. Every tube site has its strengths and weaknesses, and the search engine is xHamster's biggest weakness. I learned long ago that if my search is in any way specific, even just a bit, that I'll be better off elsewhere.

On the other hand, their strength is that the clips they DO have that come up tend to be either the full clip, or at least longer, than that other "x" tube site, whose search engine is better but will hit you up with 135 results, all of which could be 5 min segments of the same damn clip, lol.

xHamster is the best site in the world but I find myself doing a lot more search than jack a lot of times on here lol!

putting it mildly the search engine on here is fucking shit, useless, pathetic etc and I cant see it improving, I would just like to know why its so bad if I want to see a specific vid on here I use an external search engine

on another note I am trying to get a slow motion feature on the video player any spare votes would be nice XX

Filters (date added at least) and word matching is pretty bad

I can't understand this, this is number 1 site in internet, all quality videos are in here. But searching is pretty bad. I found xhamster videos from another tube sites. Very bad searching function. Site owners don't want finding the videos we want to watch. I know my english is bad like your search function.

The search agressively uses "stemming", i.e. also matching part of the search word. Searching for "leggings" gives tons of results matching "leg" this is not helpful.
The blonde-girl trick mentioned earlier does not work - it just gives no results.
If the default is "OR" then using + to require a word would be a common method i.e. +blonde +girl but reqiuiring all words to match would be more intuitive.

Now they broke it.

Get with the program, xhamster! You need to add inclusions, exclusions & alternatives, just like google does... Just like some of the other tubes are starting to do.

It would be nice if you could put in something like "-anal" to exclude anything that has that keyword from the search results. It would make this sight so much more fun for me. I spend a lot of time on here sifting through search results that have a LOT of crap I'm not interested in to find the ones I do want.

If there's a way to exclude by keyword already, someone please tell me how.

you can use hyphen to do that. i.e. to find everything with words blonde AND girl in the title, type "blonde-girl" in search query. i just figured it out myself by pure guessing/trying. enjoy.

if someone figures out a way to search categories via the query, please post your findings too.

Seconded. eBay's model of suggesting alternative combinations might be feasible, but the default really should be matching every word.
