Please address the problem of the unnecessary censorship of so many common words?
Remove censorship as there are ways of getting round writing censored words anyway and it would make things easier if every piece didn't need editing to fit within the xhamster constraints.

I've just had an experience with the censor that is worse than being in the path of its avalanche of asterisks.
I uploaded a video and used one of the auto-censored words in the description field. But rather than the aserisk swarm, the offending word was changed to an altogether different word with a similar meaning. However, the new word rendered the description ungrammatical, making ME look like an idiot.
I'd rather have the reader have to figure out what the original word under an asterisk blizzard is, rather than conclude - due to the change in wording - that I'm an illiterate fool.

I came in here to say the same thing. there has got to be a way round it or come up with
symbols for certain words. can't use D_rugs or F_orced? I don't get it -

Yes, it is kind of ridiculous. With the extent of the words being filtered here I don't think it's possible to lay all the blame on the payment card companies. So far I've seen:
kid, child, underage (obvious)
sleep, asleep, unconscious, force, drunk, rape, blood (it filters rape even if it's part of a common word like "drapes")
fifteen, sixteen, seventeen (again with the underage shit)
animal, brother, sister, family (but not, weirdly enough - mother, father, aunt, uncle, etc)I get the avoidance of anything resembling underage porn, though it's completely farcical and doesn't stop anyone from writing those themes in anyway. It winds up looking ridiculous because a good third of our time is spent "sleeping" so any story which spans more than a few hours is going to have censor stars all over three or four super common words. The incest avoidance I have less sympathy for because to my knowledge although incest is illegal in most US states, there is no legal action at all you can take against someone for discussing the act. Ditto for bestiality (why the hell would you bleep the word "animal" anyway? It's one of the most common metaphors used to describe frantic, intense sex). In fact as far as I can tell child porn is the ONLY scenario where describing or fantasizing online can get you in ANY legal trouble. The stories being filtered for the word "kid" or "child" aren't usually using them in that way,.
Ah well. I doubt anything will come of anonymously demanding a porn site to be more user friendly. Had to give it a shot though. -

I can understand bleeping out certain words to conform to industry requirements but words like: family, sister, undressed, are censored for no obvious reason. In some of the 20 stories I have entered onto this site about half of them have simple everyday words bleeped. It DOES ruin the continuity of the story.

The "banned words" thing is beyond xHamster's control. Any porn site that wants to accept credit card payments has to block out certain words in "publicly visible" places (the exact rules are more complex, but that's the basic idea). Yet another reason to hate Visa, Mastercard, and the banks.

I know the reviewers struggle against underage/racist/incest based material but the censorship in the vocabulary hampers flowing verse and prose, also to a lesser degree general literacy. Vote to modify the system?! NOBBY0007xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
