Comprehensive options/tags/labels to better describe profiles and improve search for Gender, Sexual/Romantic Orientation and Roles.
We are being pigeonholed with limited options to describe ourselves and consequentially struggle to connect with appropriate users.
Firstly, "Transgender" is the correct umbrella term and should replace "transsexual". (The least you could do)
I would also appreciate tags to help differentiate types of transgender. Eg. Full time, part time, MtF, FtM, Crossdresser/transvestite, Gender queer, intersex, transsexual...
I would also appreciate more comprehensive sexual orientation labels. Eg Heterosexual, Hetro-flexible, homosexual, homoflexible, bi, lesbian, translesbian, pansexual, etc...
There is also Romantic orientation (if we're going balls deep). I say this because as a trans-lesbian I don't mind being friends with my more masculine admirers as long as they understand sex is off the table.
Also monoamory & polyamory relationship tags wouldn't hurt. Maybe a system that shows the types of relationship users have with other users. There can be far more partners & gender combinations than the 4 existing couples icons.
There are also multiple personality types or roles users have and look for. Domme, submissive, sissy, vanilla, mistress, sadist, daddy, baby-girl, etc... It would help if the profile search also accommodated these tags. I mention this because I'm tired of people mistaking me for a submissive sissy, just because I crossdress.
Gender and sexual/romantic orientation is better described as point in a spectrum, or even a percentage and not a "black or white" answer. Fetlife.com is an example of a site that gives plenty of tags to describe oneself.
You, Xham devs have your work cut out for you. Good luck! ^.^

Please, XHamster, I can't believe it's 2024 and I still have to use "shemale" tags on every single video.
1) it's fucking offensive to force us to use this term. if some people want to use it, that's fine, but we should not be forced to.
2) some of us are trans-MASC and therefore most of these mandatory tags are irrelevant to us.

Seriously! I just signed up to recommend this, but I will give you my vote.
When I think "gay", I think "same-sex", not just man-on-man. Woman-on-woman vids are almost always categorized as straight. A guy watching those might feel like he is straight, but a lesbian probably doesn't. Also, the trans category recently went from ok to worse in being replaced by "shemale". What about trans-men?

I Agree It Is A Bit Restrictive On Info.
